David R. Samyn Appointed Vice President & General Manager of ITW Inc. Electronic Assembly Equipment Group

Stratham, New Hampshire, USA ‐ David R. Samyn has joined Illinois Tool Works Inc. (NYSE:ITW) as Vice President and General Manager, Electronic Assembly Equipment Group. The group is comprised of Vitronics Soltec in Stratham, New Hampshire, and Speedline Technologies of Franklin, Massachusetts.

Mr. Samyn previously served as Vice President and General Manager, Electronics Division of Littelfuse, Inc., a leading global supplier of circuit protection components, for six years, from 2003‐2009. Prior to that, he served as Vice President – Global Sales, with Airfiber, Inc., an optical wireless telecom company in San Diego,  California. Prior to that position, Mr. Samyn spent six years as Vice President for Europe, Middle East, and Africa for ADC Telecommunications, and was based in Brussels, Belgium. From 1990 to 1996, Mr. Samyn served Raychem Corporation as Director of Marketing and Sales, Europe, based in Paris, France, and in Menlo Park, California as Product Marketing Manager – Telecommunications Components.

David Samyn is also a member of the Board of Directors of TechAmerica, the largest association of high tech companies in the United States. He holds an MBA in marketing and strategy from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management, and a Bachelor’s in Engineering from the University of Illinois.
